The North Dakota Board of Nursing has two openings for external representatives on the Nursing Education Committee (NEC). Nursing education community external representatives are selected and appointed by the Board for a two-year term on the NEC and may be reappointed for an additional two-year term. The purpose of this committee is to make recommendations to the board related to nursing education and for awarding nursing education loans.

Interested nurse educator applicants should have knowledge and experience working with nursing regulation, practice, and education issues. NEC external representatives must be able to attend three scheduled and occasional unscheduled NEC meetings each year and must have a willingness to advocate for public protection through the work of the NEC.

Nurse educators interested in applying for appointment to the NEC should complete the Application for Appointment to Committee form and submit completed application with a current CV and cover letter indicating why interested in serving on the NEC. Applications will be accepted through November 30, 2019. The NEC and Board will review the applications and appointments will be made at the January 2020 NDBON meeting. Newly appointed representatives will begin serving on the NEC as of January 2020.

Applications and additional documents may be emailed to the ND Board of Nursing Education Director.
