On July 16, 2020, the ND Board of Nursing discussed and reviewed the draft practice guidance clarifying current law and rules pertaining to RN and LPN Scope of Practice. The clarification document aims to proactively address high volumes of public concern related to RN and LPN Scope of Practice across components of nursing practice; specifically assessment, planning, implementing, evaluating, teaching, management of nursing care, and the administration/management of the practice of nursing.
The ND Board of Nursing is accepting public comment on the draft practice guidance through August 31, 2020. If no substantial comments are received, the practice guidance will be adopted and become effective on September 1, 2020. If significant comments affecting draft content are received, the ND Board of Nursing will consider the comments at the October convened meeting.
