As many as 76% of nurses in the United States report experiencing verbal or physical assault. It is essential the nurse be equipped with the knowledge and skills to safely de-escalate an aggressive situation while maintaining patient and staff safety. Aggressive behaviors can lead to absenteeism, low morale, and job dissatisfaction for the nurse and physical restraint and loss of control for the patient. Maintaining safety for both nurse and patient must remain at the center of de-escalation so a positive outcome can prevail. This webinar will increase awareness of situations that can lead to an aggressive encounter and equip the nurse to safely deescalate those situations.
